One-9

@one9omera

One-9, born and raised in Washington, NC is one of the prime artist being presented by AllUs Ent./One-9 Ent./IllVision Recordings.  One-9 started rapping at the age of 18 after observing other artists in the area partake in the craft.  His lyrics are strongly influenced by the environment in which he was surrounded, which involved a lot of street related activities and hardships.  One-9 is often compared to hip hop artists such as Young Jeezy and the legendary Slick Rick, with the ability to craft 1st person tales that engulf the listener and actually bring you into his world, no matter how dark, notorious, sad, and also enlightening, the story may be.  One-9, along with Derek Simpkins p.k.a. Detox started the group A-N-D (Armed and Dangerous) in the late 90's, early 2000's, which went on to release the Self Titled project "Armed and Dangerous" that was sold locally in the Eastern NC Market and expanded to rest of NC and the Virginia markets very swiftly based upon the reality that was portrayed in their lyrics about the streets and the lifestyle that they led and were surrounded by, and the street demand.  One-9, along with business partner Laurence "L. Real" Doby, decided to join forces as a business team in 2010 in order to provide an outlet for other artists in the area that needed redirection from the "street life" and the opportunity to showcase their talent, the whole time, crafting and developing the artists, and himself, into skillful songwriters and performers.  One-9, along with the team, has performed in numerous venues and events throughout North Carolina, including Charlotte NC's renowned CIAA event, Carolina Music Awards and Mid-Atlantic Music Conference and numerous appearances in Raleigh and Greensboro, NC.  In the words of One-9 " I want to be a role model for the kids in my hood and show them they can be whatever they want to be as long as they work hard at it.  Hard work, Dedication and team work is my motivation."
